Giles Smith of The Times says that sharper looks are "only the start of it" where the "facelift" of the 308 is concerned. Remarking on how the car appears to have "swapped flab for muscle in the important places" and "seems to be hunkering closer to the ground," he adds that it now offers micro-hybrid technology "which makes it more frugal".
But for Smith, the highlight of the new car is its panoramic roof: "Entirely glazed from front to back, it flooded the interior of the car with the kind of light painters go and live abroad for."
He also appreciated the electric blind "that magically creates a perfectly conventional heat-refracting ceilinged interior".
